The "Red Bug" ride had battery-powered cars you could really drive around a track. Hal Schlegel says "After the park closed for the evening, some of us emplyees would "soup up" the Red Bugs by putting extra batteries in them and racing around the track. We weren't sure whether our boss Maurice Fraley knew what we were doing, but we never got in trouble for it." One of these Red Bugs survives today in the museum collection.
